How is it to live in the North of Finland, under the Northern Lights?
Well, fairly simple. We have the Northern Lights in sky for 200 nights per year, statistically. So if the night is clear, we do not sleep during 2 nights out of 3. If on the other hand it is snowing or otherwise overcast, then we do not bother to watch the Aurora outside. Please, note that it is not midnight, when the Aurora statistically most often appears. It is the magnetic midnight, a bit before local midnight, say from 10 pm to 11:30 pm. This normally leaves you a good night’s sleep, unless you want to be more professional and stay awake from 7 pm to 5 am. Which is what we often however want to do.
